Autumn

Autumn is here, though it did not feel like it two weeks ago, when I took these pictures. But the tree in our garden is transforming from summer green into great colours!

And this is what I'd love to do on the weekend - chill out with a nice book! Has not happened till now....

Or.... if it's too chilly outside, this sun flooded living room looks very inviting, too.

Corals....

Some colour for a slightly grey day! These caught my eye at net-a-porter. Isn't the background scenery gorgeous!

Off to Frieze Art Fair today - should be interesting!

Art London

A few impressions from Art London. It starts with Galerie Olivier Waltman. First the elephant by artists Christian Volckman and Raphael Thierry. Very forceful image, and it has something abstract to it which I really like. Then a painting by Jorge Enrique, followed by some works of Philippe Huart. His works look so 3-dimensional and I particularly love the colourful ones with their double meaning/hidden message.

 The ones below are from the Catto Gallery and Tanis, it does not get more lime than this photography!

Blue Blau Bleu

Blue is said to be the world's favourite colour.

Blue skies are happiness!

Colour of the ocean and sky.

Calming, inspiring confidence, reduces blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates.

The spa's shade of bue was chosen for its slight purple content to create a warm atmosphere that appeals to all the senses.

At once cool and calm.

Blue creates a sense of space.

I was asked to do one blog for the men, so here we go....

Walk on the beach anybody?

Cool boat, no?.... cool picture, too, I think.

But after all this is about design and interiors, so here are a few interiors that should appeal to the males:

Dark, but impressive hallway in a house in New York, featuring art and antiques from the 20's century.

Great mix of vintage finds and antiques from the 70's.

Mixed Friday

One of the living rooms/interiors I love and as you can see had in my files for a long time. I think it is a great mix of furniture, some very arty pieces, yet still functional. 

Here now some funky floor installation in the Stella McCartney store in Milan by designer Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay from Raw Edges. They initially caught my eye with the installation below, revolving  paper trees planted on a paper and wood console table.

Rough views!

Great contrast between the rough surroundings, the concrete walls, the welcoming sofa's and the candles on the table as well as the lit fireplace. I think this terrace calls for a glass of wine on the sofa and just take in your surroundings and dream!

Another beautiful picture that goes with today's theme.

The cluster of vases help to bring the outside inside with their shades of green and brown and I love the Mario Testino photo of the elegant dress/beautiful woman in front of the old and rough background!
