Sensing spaces (part 1)

I got the opportunity to go to an early viewing at the Royal Academy yesterday morning. Sensing Spaces is Architecture reimagined. 7 architects from around the world were asked for their contribution to experience space and physically explore it. These unique spaces show the interaction between three factors: the nature of physical spaces, our perception of them, and their evocative power. 

First in this series of installations the archways by Eduardo Souto de Moura:




Second the fun and colourful archway by Diebedo Francis Kéré: Honeycombed sound insulation material has been build into an archway and visitors are asked to contribute by adding a colourful straw to the structure:








A bit wild but ever changing and colourful! xx
